Program Description
The Early Childhood Care and Education, Associate of Applied Science degree program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for careers in child care and related fields. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of early childhood care and education theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive an Early Childhood Care and Education Associate of Applied Science Degree with a specialization in one of the following areas: paraprofessional, exceptionalities , Family Childcare Provider, Infant and Toddler, School Age and Youth Care, or program management.

Degree Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet general admissions requirements, and must also:
Present official documentation of an acceptable accredited high school diploma, GED, or acceptable college credit.
Present acceptable SAT, ACT, or CPE scores taken within the last five years, or acceptable COMPASS or ASSET scores taken within the last five years. Documentation on a college transcript of successful completion of appropriate courses from a regionally accredited college or university may be accepted in lieu of test scores.
