Since 1902, Morrison University has been offering business-related education and training to Nevadans. Founded by A.F. Atkinson as Nevada Business Institute, the original campus was located at the southwest corner of Sierra and Walnut (6th) Streets. Heald's Business College of California purchased Nevada Business Institute in August 1907 and began offering classes that fall. With emphasis on individual instruction, students could take classes in many professional fields.
